Speaking only for myself, having been sexually assaulted by a confrere who was also a priest, I even find it difficult to trust God. But I’m slowly getting there. Our Lady, who has been with me since, I believe, infancy, has wrapped me in her mantle and is very slowly and patiently guiding me. I’m not really working on trusting people. I don’t know if I will. All I can say is if God so wills it I will give it my best.
Good news? I am now able to go to Mass. I have to go in civvies and sit in the back near the exit, but that’s okay.
